Climate change and massive population growth have raised alarm bells.
Experts say that if the use of water is not made a collective issue, very soon people will crave a drop of water.
A meeting of water experts was held in Peshawar on the issue of water availability and future problems in different areas of Pakistan. These experts say that the speed at which the glaciers are melting is dangerous.
Experts say that unless the sensitivity of the water issue is felt at the level of each individual, no plan will be of any use. So the common man has to take an interest in making water safe.
Experts from inside and outside the country said that the use of dirty water for agriculture is promoting diseases, which is clear evidence of the lack of clean water.
